MMROC Correspondent,
METAL WALT
Ā
A lifelong native of North Jersey, Metal Walt (his real name cannot be disclosed pending an open warrant out for his arrest for piracy and a stubborn, yet steadfast attitude and opinions of all things Metal), was baptized into Metal for life in 1987 when a friend puked in his ānosebleedā seat during a concert at the Meadowlands Arena AND he still watched the show unphased from the stairs!
A salty concert veteran with bragging rights having attended over 1,000 shows (and counting) from Sayerville to Sweden, Metal Walt prides himself in bringing to the listeners his vast knowledge of artists and his completely useless, yet fascinating āphotographic-likeā memory of opening bands, setlists and venues.
In addition to being a Metal Mayhem ROC Contributor, he is also the Author to be of future NY Times
best seller āHow to Attend Concerts on A Broke Ass Budget.ā š¤

WHY ARE YOU A METALHEAD FOR LIFE?
Being āmetalā for me is far more than just the music itself. Itās all about the bigger experiences, the life-long friends Iāve made through the music and all of the places Iāve been to for the love of the music! No matter how many times you see a band, itās always a different experience. The adrenaline I still feel when opening a brand-new CD, or heading into a concert venue and taking in all of the sites and sounds
still gets me fired up! I was told over 30 years ago that it was a phase āI would outgrowā.Ā Whoās laughing now!

TOP METAL MEMORIES
- The Metal shows and festivals Iāve attended all over the world, including Canada, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, the UK, Sweden, Japan and countless US festivals (M3, Music Midtown, Beale St. Music Fest to name a few)
- Meeting (and taking photos with) Ronnie James Dio, Tony Iommi, Geoff Tate, Eddie Trunk, and Jim Norton backstage all in a matter of less than an hour at a private NYC event in 2008.
- Singing the chorus of āTime for Terrorā (WWIII song) on stage with Mandy Lion and band at a 2007 club show.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT METAL MAYHEM ROC?
Being a Contributor & show Co-Host has allowed me to express my love for Metal in a whole new way! The āHistory Of Heavy Metalā series has driven me to dig even deeper in my research of the bands, music and the trends. Just when you think you know it all, there is more out there for the taking. Perhaps the most rewarding part is showing my true personality to the listeners and taking on the exciting challenges of coming up with creative & unique ways to present the material to the listeners!
